BIO

Marti Lynn Dodson is a BMI award winning singer/songwriter from Franklin Furnace, Ohio. She received a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in counseling at The Ohio State University, where she founded pop/rock band Saving Jane in 2000. Marti is currently working on becoming a Certified Life Coach through one of the only accredited coaching courses in the US, and pursuing her goal of helping fellow musicians and songwriters achieve their dreams.

Saving Jane went on to become one of the highest charting independent bands of the 2000’s. Marti penned and performed 2 RIAA Certified Gold Singles in Saving Jane, and her music has been featured in shows and commercials on NBC, ABC, MTV, the WE network, and TLC. Saving Jane’s songs became theme music for TV personality/chef Rachael Ray, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, Olympic Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin, and tattoo artist Kat Von D.

Country star Julie Roberts covered Marti’s song “Girl Next Door”, and sensing a potential career in songwriting, Marti began to branch out and write songs for other artists. Her song “Last Man Standing” was the theme song for the German tv show “Popstars”, and she achieved 2 more gold records, one in Canada with artist Suzie McNeil’s “Supergirl”, and one in Belgium with artist Kevin’s song “She’s Got Moves”.  She also scored a hit on the Contemporary Christian charts with “The Only Song” by Blessid Union of Souls. Marti’s first top 10 Christian single, “My Hallelujah”, by artist Brandy Allison, was released in 2012. In August of 2014 after signing with BMG Chrysalis Nashville, Marti cowrote “Here Comes Crazy” by Terri Clark and “Quarterback” by Kira Isabella, a top 10 song in Canada, voted the #1 country song of 2014 by Spin Magazine and one of the top 25 songs of the year in all genres by Rolling Stone. 2016 cuts include “Heart Break” by UK country act The Shires, “Stick ‘Em Up” by Carter Winter, “You Look Like Rain” by Luke Bryan, and Thompson Square’s “You Make It Look So Good”. In 2018, Marti’s song ‘Old Soul’ was featured on NBC ‘s The Voice and subsequently released as a single by Spensha Baker, and Thompson Square released ‘Breakers’ as part of their Masterpiece album.
